Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale

Look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | drink: 4.5

Beer looks a bright, kind of hazy orange, with a creamy head. I attempt to carve the glass, but am stopped by the bartender, who politely reminds me that this is a beer and not an actual pumpkin, though i still check inside for seeds. The smell hits me with the pumpkin flavour right away, then the ginger, nutmeg, coriander and all the other wonderful aromas that we associate with Nana's homemade pumpkin pie. The taste does not disappoint, and when one considers the ABV it becomes patently obvious that Weyerbacher has created a pumpkin brew is a head above the rest. The pumpkin flavour is still present and pleasant, and all the other previously mention spices are hanging out as well, throwing a thanksgiving party in my mouth. The high ABV does not make this beer any less wonderful at all. This was not a case of someone simply "alcoholing up" an already existing recipe, the alcohol is barely noticeable, and the full feeling of the flavours makes this an incredibly enjoyable experience. The only reason i can't go full boat on the drinkability scale with this is that i simply couldn't handle too many of these without seriously feeling the effects, though I may test that theory this thanksgiving

Foothills Sexual Chocolate

look: 5 | smell: 5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 5 | drink: 5

My first ever growler, and what a pleasure it was! Deep black colour that reminds me of midnight mixed with space. It has a nice looking head that hangs around and a wonderful lace. Smells strongly of chocolate (obviously) and to lesser extent coffee. A powerful, and pleasant aroma that makes my mouth watcher for the first taste. The taste is everything I expected, a sweet chocolate with some coffee aftertaste as well, but the sweetness makes this a truly memorable experience. This also may be the best feeling beer I've ever had, in addition to the taste which also certainly up there as well. I still have a hard time believing that this is a 10% RIS, because our friends at Bud Light could use some education as to what true "drinkability" is. This may very well be one of the best beers i've ever had, and I'm already sad that my growler is gone and i'll have to wait to get another

Arrogant Bastard Ale (Stone Brewing Co.)

look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 5 | drink: 4.5
Beer looks very good with a brown, slightly red colour and beautiful head that had great retention. Smells pleasant with a strong hint of hops that gives way to some nice fruity notes, mostly citrusy. The taste knocks me back a bit at first very strong on the hops, but after a few drinks there is a definite malt to it as well, a bit strong for sure, and will keep me satisfied. while i like the taste, the feel of this beer is what really hooks me. It's difficult to put into words, but the best i can say is that this is what drinking a beer is supposed to feel like. A delicious beer and i could certainly drink another
